However, many people do and even agonize over it, moving hangers left and right in the closet and throwing things from the drawers to find what matches and what looks right for that particular day or evening.

This Friday, June 30, is National Outfit of the Day (OOTD) Day. Popularized on Instagram, the tag is used for users worldwide to show off their fashion prowess. But which states in the U.S. are the most fashionable? We took a break from regular Ohio sports betting coverage to find out.

Using data from Cosmopolitan, FarFetch, PrepScholar and America’s Next Top Model Winners, BetOhio.com created a weighted points system to rank the most fashionable states.

Data points include states of origin for the most popular American fashion designers and America’s Next Top Model Winners, states that are home to top fashion universities in the U.S., and popular opinion.

Ohio Makes the Cut on Fashion

Ohio placed within the top 10, finishing in a four-way tie for sixth place with Illinois, Massachusetts and Washington.

The fashion capital of the U.S., and perhaps world - New York - topped the list with 22, followed by California (16), Florida (10), Texas (9) and New Jersey (8).

The Buckeye State also boasts two of the nation’s top institutions for fashion: Kent State University and the Columbus College of Art and Design.

While Ohio is not home to any ANTM winners or major fashion designers, the state does host the headquarters of huge clothing brands. Abercrombie & Fitch Co. is headquartered in New Albany and Columbus is home to DSW, Express, and L Brands (which includes Victoria’s Secret, PINK).

My personal fashion choice: golf apparel, especially quarter-zips.
