Tee Higgins Trade Rumors: Potential Trade Destinations After Trade Request

Editor’s Note: This story updated June 12, 2024.

One of the NFL’s best pass catchers may soon be on the move. Tee Higgins of the Cincinnati Bengals has yet to sign the tag that the franchise gave him, making it unlikely that the fifth-year pro out of Clemson will stay in the Queen City long term.

BetOhio.com, as part of our Ohio betting sites coverage, broke down some exclusive odds on which NFL team Higgins will suit up for next season. A host of AFC squads rank at or near the top of our list, along with a couple of up-and-coming NFC clubs.

Since our last update in May, our Tee Higgins next team odds have shifted. But the Los Angeles Chargers (+1000 odds, or a 9.1% implied probability) remain our favorite to be the next destination for Higgins if he leaves the Bengals. These odds are exclusive to BetOhio.com; you will not find them at Ohio sports betting app operators.

Higgins is coming off a down year. In 2023, Higgins hauled in in 42 catches for 656 yards and five touchdowns, all career lows. He only played 12 games with the Bengals; in his previous three NFL seasons combined, Higgins only missed two games.

The fact that Higgins hasn’t signed the one year, $21.816 million sheet that the Bengals gave him this offseason puts both sides in a bit of a bind. Neither side appears willing to blink in their contract standoff now.

Our expectation currently is for Higgins to get dealt to the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers are looking to rebuild under new head coach Jim Harbaugh and to give quarterback Justin Herbert a legitimate No. 1 playmaker at wide receiver in 2024.

The favored Bolts beat out the New England Patriots (+1250) and Atlanta Falcons (+1500) on our odds board. The New York Jets, Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs are all pinned at +2000 to sign the star wideout. The Chiefs are new to our list; the two-time defending Super Bowl champions are favored or co-favored at major sportsbooks. You can track Cincinnati Bengals playoff chances all season.

Rounding out our list is the Arizona Cardinals, who are looking for a veteran presence to put next to first-round pick out of Ohio State, Marvin Harrison Jr. We list the NFC West franchise at +2500 to trade for Higgins ahead of training camp next month.

But the most likely scenario on our list, at -140 odds, is that Higgins either stays in Cincinnati or joins a team that’s not on our list. The 25-year-old Tennessee native is one of the top receivers on the market this offseason, so keep an eye on him with BetOhio.com, which also offers the best Ohio sports betting promotions available.
