CJ Stroud Heisman Odds: Ohio State QB With 57% Chance to Win
Fact Checked by Hunter Hewitt

For the first time this season, Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud's Heisman odds and chances are above 50%. Stroud has been at the top of most oddsmakers' lists for a majority of the season. After a big win over Maryland, Stroud's Heisman Trophy odds have improved even more.

Latest CJ Stroud Heisman Odds: November 2022

Ahead of Ohio State vs. Michigan, C.J. Stroud's Heisman odds are -135 according to BetMGM Ohio, placing him at the top spot ahead of USC QB Caleb Williams.

Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina+700
Blake Corum, RB, Michigan+1100
Bo Nix, QB, Oregon+3000
Max Duggan, QB, TCU+5000

For context, if you bet $135 on C.J. Stroud to win the Heisman, you would win $100, and net $235 if he claims the award.

Heisman Odds Week 12

Although Stroud did not have the most impressive stat line in Week 12 ā€“ he threw for 241 yards and 1 touchdown ā€“ he remained at the top of most Heisman odds lists thanks to another big win. Caleb Williams, however, threw for 470 yards and 2 TDs in a big win over UCLA. The USC QB's Heisman odds were +800 a week prior, but he has jumped to +125 after an impressive performance.

Heisman Odds Week 10 & Week 11

The Maryland win comes after a 56-14 win over Indiana the week prior, where CJ Stroud threw for 297 yards and 5 touchdowns, which improved his Heisman odds slightly from +145 to +130. While Hendon Hooker also had a strong showing against Missouri, his odds remain at +300 for the second straight week.

After spending most of the season as the Heisman favorite, Stroud briefly dropped behind Hooker, the quarterback of the then-undefeated Tennessee Volunteers. This was the first time this season Hooker took over as the favorite to win the award.

While Hooker had the edge for a week, Tennessee's loss to Georgia shifted the odds again. Moving forward, Stroud will likely remain in the top spot ahead of Hooker, North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye (+500), Michigan running back Blake Corum (+600), and Pac-12 quarterbacks Caleb Williams (+800) and Bo Nix (+800).

CJ Stroud's Heisman Run: Weeks 1-9

After Week 9 of the college football season, the Heisman Trophy odds shifted heavily at most sportsbooks. Oddsmakers dropped C.J. Stroud to the No. 2 spot, and moved Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker to the favorite.

While Stroud has been impressive leading Ohio State to an 10-0 record, Hooker has been just as impressive, if not more. Entering Week 9 of the college football season, both teams were tied for the No. 2 ranking the AP Top 25 college football poll. After Tennessee's loss in Week 10, however, Stroud and Ohio State find themselves in a much better spot.

After 10 games, Stroud has thrown for 2,750 passing yards, 34 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. Hooker has thrown for 2,888 passing yards, 24 touchdowns and just 2 interceptions.

How Stroud ultimately performs against Michigan and potentially the Big Ten Championship could decide his Heisman Trophy fate. Barring a disastrous stretch, however, Stroud seems destined to at least make the trip to New York to be a finalist at the Heisman ceremony.

CJ Stroud Draft Odds: First Overall Pick

As is the case in the Heisman Trophy race, C.J. Stroud sits neat the top of the odds chart to be selected first overall in the NFL Draft. Stroud is currently listed at +200 to be selected No. 1 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft, which places him ahead of two Alabama stars in QB Bryce Young and edge-rusher Will Anderson.

āļø CJ Stroud, Quarterback+200
Bryce Young, Quarterback+225
Will Anderson, Linebacker+330
Paris Johnson, O-Lineman+1000
Phil Jurkovec, Quarterback+1500
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Wide Receiver+1500
Will Levis, Quarterback+1500

At 6-foot-3 and nearly 220 pounds, Stroud is a prototypical NFL quarterback. Stroud has a cannon for an arm and is a very good athlete, although he rarely uses it to run. With an arm like his, who can blame him? The NFL Draft is still several months away, but for a team looking for a franchise quarterback, Stroud will be tough to pass up.

Early NFL mock drafts and projections have C.J. Stroud landing with QB-needy teams like the Houston Texans, Atlanta Falcons, or Seattle Seahawks. Fans should check out the NFL Draft odds once they're available at operators like bet365 Sportsbook Ohio
